The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been hit by tragedy following the sudden death of a fourth-year Biological Sciences student, Joana Deladem Yabani.
In a statement released by university management, the institution confirmed that Miss Yabani’s lifeless body was discovered near the KNUST Disability and Rehabilitation Centre at approximately 5:00 a.m. on February 27, 2025.
Upon receiving the distress report, KNUST Security Services swiftly transported the body to the University Health Services, where medical personnel confirmed her passing.
“The University has officially informed her family, and we extend our deepest condolences to them during this difficult time,” the statement read.
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. The probe involves KNUST Internal Security, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and the University Health Services to ascertain the cause of death.
