The paramount Queen Mother of Akyem Kotoku traditional area in the Eastern region, Nana Akua Asantewaa III has angrily speak against the unfair treatment some chiefs are giving to the queen mothers in the traditional area and has vowed to protect the queen mothers with the last drop of her blood.

Addressing the press during a presser held at her residence in Akyem Oda in the Birim Central Municipality of Eastern region, the paramount Queen mother of Akyem Kotoku traditional area,Nana Akua Asantewaa III lamented about the unfair treatment given to queen mothers in the Kotoku traditional area.

She revealed that the only person who has the sole power and authority to rebuke or destool any queen mother according to the Akyem Kotoku tradition is the paramount queen mother but it is disheartening to see certain chiefs going round frustrating some queen mothers claiming to have unlawfully destooled them.

She has therefore assured all the queen mothers in the Akyem Kotoku traditional area of her full support and has advised them to unite and withstand the unfair treatment from their chiefs so as to have their peace to reign.

Sighting an example, she said some people are making noise that the Akyem Asene queen mother has been destooled but it is not true because such issue has not been layed before her as the paramount queen mother, therefore anyone who hears such pronouncement should treat it as a false rumor.

Meanwhile some of the queen mothers in the Akyem Kotoku traditional area who were present at the presser also expressed their displeasure in the unfair treatment given to them by some Kotoku chiefs in their communities and called for unity among the queen mothers to withstand such unfair treatments.
