Tema West Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),Hon. Kwasi Poku Bosompem, has voiced his disappointment over recent public comments made by former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Safo, urging her to prioritize party unity over personal grievances.
Speaking on Adwenekasa on Original TV, Bosompem stressed that being placed on the sidelines within a political team does not equate to inferiority. He encouraged Safo to reflect on the support and opportunities she has received from the NPP, rather than seeking attention through public press conferences.
“Adwoa Safo had one of the most privileged appointments under the NPP government—what more does she want?” Bosompem questioned, suggesting that her recent outburst was unwarranted and ungrateful.
His comments follow Safo’s press conference where she voiced dissatisfaction with the party’s direction—a move that has reportedly stirred disappointment among party members. “This hypocrisy must stop,” Bosompem declared, highlighting the growing unease within the party’s grassroots base. “If those who have benefited are complaining, then what should the hungry people do?” he asked pointedly.
He further dismissed Safo’s alleged ambitions of becoming the running mate to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, branding such aspirations as “forever vain” and unrealistic.
Bosompem concluded by calling on all party faithful to remain focused and united, especially as the NPP prepares for a crucial election period.
